Tailored Training for you and your dog

Choosing Private Lessons allows us to observe your dog in their home environment, and perform a full assessment of their lifestyle and behaviour.  We also discuss the behavioural and training goals you want to achieve with your dog. This information allows us to create a customised training plan specifically for your dog’s training needs and the needs of your family. These lessons can be at home, your local park, or any other environment you require training in.

There are also many dogs and owners that are not suited to learning in a group class environment. Although our group classes are only small, the distraction of the other dogs and owners can be intimidating or too over-stimulating for some. Private Lessons allow you and your dog to train at your own pace, within the safety and comfort of your home, to teach obedience skills, and address issues such as:

  • Jumping up
  • Biting/Mouthing
  • Chewing & Destruction
  • Nuisance Barking
  • Over-excitement
  • Toilet Training
  • Crate Training
  • Lack of confidence

Successful dog training though, starts with “owner-training”. We will firstly teach you the essential foundations of how to understand your dog’s behaviour, how to communicate effectively with your dog and how to build a relationship of mutual respect.

Does your dog’s leash pulling make walks unenjoyable?

Private Lessons are the most effective method of teaching loose leash walking, as we can provide you with the 1 on 1 help needed to perfect both you and your dog’s leash skills, as well as work directly in your dog’s walking environment.

Group classes can teach your dog to walk nicely on a training field, but many owners struggle to transfer these skills to their neighbourhood streets.

Getting started

Your Initial Private Lesson will run for 2 hours, in your home, where we will get you know you and your dog, assess their current behaviour and start your customised training plan. To continue training, we then have a range of Private Training Programs to choose from, depending on your dog’s training needs as determined in this Initial Lesson.

Investment: $325 Initial 2 hour Private Lesson for new clients
1 hour or 45 minute Follow Up Lessons are available for current clients
Available: Tuesday-Friday during school hours

Walk & Train Lessons

Our Walk & Train lessons are a great way to fast track your dog’s training results, or to help you get some extra training sessions in during your busy week. Our Trainer will personally train your puppy or adult dog for a 45 minute lesson. You are not required for these lessons, and they can be done while you are at work, injured, on holidays, or at home.

Walk & Train lessons are sold in packages of 4 or 8 lessons and must be used in conjunction with a Private Training Program or one of our group classes, such as Puppy Preschool or Family Dog Obedience.

Walk & Train lessons can be used for :
